'No, death is NOT the end, it is merely the beginning'
When people leave this world with resentment and hatred in their hearts, their souls turn into demons, and these are collected by the Grim Reaper.
"The Grim Reaper has no set form, he chooses different forms depending on the deepest fears of his victims. The Grim Reaper has only 1 task: to bring the spirits of entities that have passed on (including Apparitions) from the human world into the afterlife. Once he identifies the spirits that must be transported, he takes a form to instill fear into his victims.
This is what Vulcan remembers when he saw the Grim Reaper for the first time in the forest of tranquility. He continues, " There are many Grim Reapers, numerous as if in a legion. And all of them were led by the strongest one of them all: Thanatos. Equipped with the Sword Of Death in his hands, it was impossible to escape his wrath."
Thanatos said that as more people were dying, the Evil Spirit was gaining strength. If these evil spirits cannot be suppressed, the balance of good and evil will sway, breaking the Chain Of Samsara (balance between good and evil), and if that happens, all realms that ever existed will be devoured by evil spirits and darkness.
Thanatos went to seek out the best blacksmith in the universe, and asked him to create a weapon with immense capabilities and power. The Soul Scythe. While making the weapon, the blacksmith warned him that the weapon had a condition: when a grim reaper(using a soul scythe) kills, their soul will be taken up by the weapon and will live there eternally.
Thanatos agreed to this condition, and took the Soul Scythe. Equipped with this new weapon made of the Eternal Flame, he rampaged throughout the realms, taking multiple souls and making the weapon stronger, and ultimately, Thanatos became the strongest being in the realms.
The head of the apparitions Vlara heard of this, and began to prepare a trap to capture Thanatos. Vlara sent his best squadron to attack under the cover of darkness. After a brutal battle, Thanatos was exhausted, yet the attacking squadron showed no signs of slowing down. Thanatos tried to withdraw from the battle, and while doing so he was struck with a fatal blow: An Ice Arrow pierced through his chest and ended his life. His soul was taken by the Soul Scythe. This Soul Scythe now possessed the strongest soul.
But no one knows, when someone will possess the Soul Scythe, it and the new owner will merge into one, becoming an entity with the greatest power, the power to summon the God Of Death: Thanatos.
After a few years, one occasionally encounters at the Grand Master Maldoom's shrine in the Forest of Tranquility a strange shadow holding a scythe. No one could see his face, only this shadow appeared and then was hidden from sight, moving very quickly. He was Vangar, the prince of North Endo - the head of the prestigious royal guard, and the next in succession to the throne. Fate made him obtain the Soul Scythe during a hunt in the forest, and he was chosen by Thanatos' spirit to become the next owner of "Soul Scythe". Finally, Vangar was given the name of Vanatos by the people of Crypto Metropolis - Temple Keeper - Vanatos The Phantom Hunter.
